ELITE releases 64 Bit driver
64 Bit drivers have been relesed for the WIBU key for ELITE compatability with 64 bit XP, Vista and 7.
Just recently, Microsoft has approved WHQL certification of our 32-bit and our newly developed 64-bit drivers, certifying that they are fully compatible with all variants of Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.
This post will tell you how to install the latest drivers to ensure the full operating performance of your ELITE products.
This is the link to download the drivers. Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions are in this folder. Download it to a location of your choice, and extract the contents (right click, Extract All). I usually prefer to do it onto the Desktop.
For 32-bit versions of Windows
Upon the installation of your software, ELITE will automatically install the current 32-bit version of the WIBU key driver (version 5.20b). After rebooting, plug in your ELITE hardware. Inside the folder you extracted, there will be a folder named "ELITE USB Driver E20416 WHQL", and in that there will be an installer titled "DPInst". Follow the prompts, and this installer will automatically install the newest 32-bit drivers.
For 64-bit versions of Windows
The ELITE software discs only include the 32-bit version of the WIBU key driver, and as such you would get an error at the point where you would install it. After installing the ELITE software and rebooting, you will need to install the 64-bit WIBU key driver. You can download the installer for it here. After downloading it, run it with the default options selected.
Upon the completion of the WIBU key installation, you can plug in your ELITE hardware. Disregard the Found New Hardware wizard. Inside the folder you extracted, there will be a folder named "ELITE USB Driver E20416 WHQL", and in that there will be an installer titled "DPInstx64". Follow the prompts, and this installer will automatically install the newest 64-bit drivers.
